CNC Machining PEI

Polyetherimide, or PEI, is a high-performance engineering plastic with outstanding heat stability, mechanical properties, electrical insulation performance, and chemical stability.

ULTEM is the trademark name for Polyetherimide, while PEI is its generic name. Therefore, ULTEM and PEI refer to the same high-performance engineering plastic.

PEI is widely used in aerospace aircraft interior components, dashboards, thermal barriers, and insulation materials, medical equipment, surgical instruments, high-temperature sterilizable instruments, medical packaging, engine components, interior parts, lighting components, and electrical components.

At ECOREPRAP, a professional China PEI CNC machining factory, we provide natural color and black color PEI machined parts.

Cost-saving Design Tips

To reduce costs, limit part setups numbers, inspection dimensions or tight tolerances numbers, and deep pockets with small radii.

PVC CNC Machining FAQs

Ultem comes in a naturally translucent amber color. When machined, it is smooth and becomes slightly frosted. Additionally, ULTEM can be machined to a variety of surface roughnesses.
ULTEM 1000 is a translucent amber colored plastic with excellent durability, strength, stiffness and heat resistance. ULTEM 1000 may be selected over Nylon or Delrin because it has the highest dielectric properties. Common applications include industrial equipment, medical devices and electronics.
