Tool steel is any of the different carbon steels and alloy steels that are specifically fit to be made into tools and tooling, consisting of cutting tools, dies, hand tools, blades, and others. Their suitability comes from their unique firmness, resistance to abrasion and contortion, and their ability to hold a reducing-edge at raised temperature levels. Therefore, tool steels are fit for usage in the shaping of various other products, for instance in cutting, machining, marking, or building.
